THE DIVING CENTER
The Adventure Diving is the first organization to manage diving centers in all the north-west of Sardinia, since the 1986, with a story in diving since 1952. Now manage a modern and well equipped diving center and is located in just 15/30 minutes from the diving sites of Capo Caccia and Punta Giglio, considered very important in the Mediterranean for their many caves and caverns and spectacularly rich marine life.

THE DIVING SERVICES
The diving center offers many services including: transfer, equipment storage, tank filling, equipment rental, instructor assistance, boat rental, photo and video editing, and mechanical repairs.

THE EQUIPMENT
A Verticus V10 Bauer compressor, 50 tanks (10,15,18 liters) complete range of MARES/SCUBAPRO new equipment compliant with International standards for 10-15 divers, a variety of underwater lights/torches, diving vehicle, underwater computer, PC with Internet features and video for multimedia courses.

THE BOATS
There are four boats: one 14 meters one and 11 meters boat in wood, with cabin, warm water on board, (11 mt actually under maintance), and three rigid hull rubber (RIBS) boats (BWA 7.40mt-four strokes 250 Hp, and Gommonautica 4.30mt- 25Hp) that can carry 20-30 people in total.

CERTIFICATION COURSES
PADI or FIPS/CMAS scuba certification courses are organized every one to two weeks and are available in a variety of languages. Instructors are also available for specialized courses such as open water, advanced open water, rescue diver and dive master.

EXCURSION TIMES
Half-day diving excursions are available daily: mornings (departure 09.30 and return 12.30) and afternoons (departure 15.00 and return 18.00). Now is in great demand two dives in one exit (9.00-14.00). For a full day excursion, the boat departs at 9:30 and returns at 18:00. Night dives begin one hour before sunset, departure time depends on the season, and last two to three hours. During the winter season, excursions are organized on demand, weather permitting.

DIVE SITES
With the multitude of perpendicular cliffs and submerged caves in the Capo Caccia and Punta Giglio dive areas, it is possible to dive in a different environment each time, especially good for those looking for a challenge! The big caves of Nereo and Falco are the most famous, and most frequented, mainly due to the fact that the areas are so large it could take three dives to see all of Nereo. Even more spectacular are the caves of Portico, Belvedere and Cerianthus in the area of the holed island, Foradadda, famous for its enormous cave passages. The caves of Tunnel and Sifone are in the Sommergibile, or "Submarine" area, a 35meter deep rock projection gaining its name for its resemblance to a sunken submarine. The rock projection is the main wall of the Capo Caccia from which a huge canyon is created and this is a wonderful area to dive. The marvellous Madonnina, the dive site at the very tip of the cape is known for its incredible quasitropical incrustations. Furthermore, in Punta Giglio there are the caves of Pozzo , Fantasmi "Ghost Cave", Stalattiti, and finally those of Galatea, del Corallo, dei laghi or Umma Gumma and Ciprea, just to name a few. The caves with their variety of characteristics, all completely different for their orientation with the light and the types of currents, are still the subject of research by biologists and marine geologists of the University of Sassari, with a view to setting up the much longed-for future marine reserve park. In addition to the cave immersions, there are numerous free water dives sites , such as Massi delle Gorgonie Rosse "Red Soft Coral Rock", La Secca delle Aragoste "Lobster Rocks" where it is possible to see hundreds of the lobsters, the canyons of Nereo and of the Submarine, l'Arco "Arch" and Spaccata della Cernia Bianca "the Crack of Cernia Bianca", Scoglio dei Barracuda "Barracuda Rocks", Dolmen della Foradadda, and finally the Relitto del Galeone Francese "the Wreck of Galeone Francese". We come in contact with a large variety of Mediterranean species daily, including gruber, dentis, pincer lobster, conger and murey eels. Much to the delight of photo and video divers is the incredible expanse of Parazhoanthus (Margarita Flower), Leptosamnia and a myriad of incrusted sponges, all offer many opportunites for the wonderful effect of back lit photos. And most importantly is the presense of the red coral which is visible at just 4 meters and unique to all the Mediterranean area. The coral cling to the cave rooves and canyon walls of this area, and it is very exciting to take close-up pictures because of the "polipetti", the "small octopus flowers" that grow on the coral.

THE DISCOVERY
An incredible very exciting and important paleontological discovery was made during a guided cave dive in September of 1995. Marco Busdraghi, director of the dive center, found a rock containing the skeleton of a Sardinyan deer (Megacerus Cazioti), a fossil dating back about 150,000 years, before the Ice Age. A government research center is analyzing the rock and the many skulls and bones it contains to determine the exact era in which it originates and its relationship to the ocean levels, affected by the advent of the Ice Age. When the studies are completed, the results will be published.
