DIVE SITES

With the multitude of perpendicular cliffs and submerged caves in the Capo Caccia and Punta Giglio dive areas, it is possible to dive in a different environment each time, making our sites especially great for those looking for a challenge! In the north west of Sardinia, in the vicinity of our Porto Conte Bay, there are more than 300 caves above and under sea water.

The Geology of our caves is characterized by stalactites and stalagmites, winding passageways, and vast limestone caverns. In addition to the cave immersions, there are numerous free water dives sites, such as the canyons of Nereo, the Submarine Arch, and the Wreck of Galeone Francese.

We come in contact with a large variety of Mediterranean Marine Life, including species such as gruber, dentis, pincer lobster, conger and murey eels. Much to the delight of photo and video divers is the incredible expanse of Margarita Flower, a myriad of incrusted sponges, and most importantly, the presence of the red coral which is visible at just 4 meters and unique to all the Mediterranean area.

CAVE DIVE SITES

The big Caves of Nereo and Falco are the most famous, and most frequented. The Nereo Cave is the largest in the Mediterranean Sea with areas so large that it could take three dives to see all of Nereo.

Just as spectacular are the Caves of Portico, Belvedere and Cerianthus in the area of the holed island, Foradadda, which is famous for its enormous cave passages.

The Caves of Tunnel and Sifone are in the Sommergibile, or "Submarine" area, a 35 meter deep rock projection gaining its name for its resemblance to a sunken submarine. The rock projection is the main wall of the Capo Caccia from which a huge canyon is created and this is a wonderful area to dive.

The marvellous Madonnina, the dive site at the very tip of the cape is known for its incredible quasitropical incrustations.

Furthermore, in Punta Giglio there are the Deer cave, Caves of Pozzo, Fantasmi "Ghost Cave", Stalactite, and finally there are the Caves of Galatea, del Corallo, dei Laghi or Umma Gumma and Ciprea (just to name a few!). The caves each have a variety of characteristics, all completely different due to their orientations to the light and types of currents. They are still the subject of research by numerous biologists and marine geologists of the University of Sassari, who are working to establish a much longed-for marine reserve park.

FREE WATER DIVE SITES

In addition to the cave immersions, there are numerous free water dives sites such as Massi delle Gorgonie Rosse (Red Soft Coral Rock) and La Secca delle Aragoste (Lobster Rocks) where it is possible to see hundreds of the lobsters.

We also frequent the Canyons of Nereo and of the Submarine l'Arco (Arch), Spaccata della Cernia Bianca (Crack of Cernia Bianca), Scoglio dei Barracuda (Barracuda Rocks), Dolmen della Foradadda, and finally the Relitto del Galeone Francese (Wreck of Galeone Francese).
